Statistical study on the characterization of phase and amplitude scintillation events in the high-latitude region during 2014–2020 based on ISMR

A better understanding of the climatology ionospheric scintillation in high-latitude region is beneficial to model adverse effect on positioning navigation and timing services Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This paper conducts a statistical study characterization phase amplitude events based indices provided by monitoring receivers (ISMR) collected during years 2014 2020. Results this show that dominates most regions. The proportion with strong magnitude middle-high latitude greater than high middle regions, but duration generally shorter, an average value about 8 min. presents seasonal diurnal dependency due solar radiation earth orientation. relationships between occurrence space weather parameters, Ap IMF, are also studied, showing can reflect intensity region, occurs more frequently under condition northward IMF.
